10-Session Work

What is Zentherapy? It is William S. Leigh's uniquely effective system of body work developed after decades of close work with the masters.

"Zentherapy methods recognize that from birth to death, life is a flow of energy. This energy takes shape by our attitudes, our emotions, and our bodies. Zentherapy methods release the natural form of the body from the aberrations caused by physical, chemical and psychological traumas."

              - William S. Leigh

Many techniques are used: Nimmo's Trigger Point work, Rolfing, Feldenkrais, Berry work, and the qi work of Tanouye Roshi.

How does Zentherapy differ from Rolfing?
Zentherapy follows a similar 10-step format, but differs in several key ways. The client controls the depth and the speed. Movement and qi play a part.  The focus is on posture and self-development. After undergoing a series, people often report being relaxed, energetic, pain-free, and physically taller.

Is it painful? During the release of emotional or injury-related aberrations, some discomfort is unavoidable, but the client is in control. The Triggerpoint Anatomy work is very helpful.

What should I wear? Women should wear a 2-piece swimsuit or similar underwear. Men should wear briefs.

What about single sessions? Zentherapy is cumulative. While they are quite helpful, single sessions haven't the effectiveness nor the staying power of the series.
