Postural CorrectionCorrection of Postural Problems Poor posture can cause a variety of problems. In the ideal case, the muscular and skeletal systems work together to oppose the effects of gravity in an efficient manner.
The reality of the situation is something else. Whether due to prior injury, disproportionate muscle use, or erroneous body image, misalignments find their way into the body. Once present, these lead to pain and a deterioration of healthy function.
For this reason, a number of effective treatments for chronic pain rely on the principle of bringing the body back into optimum alignment. Whether accomplished by the patient through exercise, or by a health care practitioner performing hands-on therapy, positive results can be achieved through application of this simple principle.
